This set is designed to capture the J. Page tone from this legendary performance at the Royal Albert Hall. This set mimics his original 1959 Gibson Les Paul standards pickups while it still had the original PAF in the bridge. During the late summer of 1972 this pickup died on him and was replaced with a new(at the time) Gibson T-top pickup.

There are some new pickups on the horizon. First is my RD-59 PAF set, which uses many proprietary parts and include authentic butyrate bobbins. These even smell like a real PAF.

Second is my new Tele set based directly off of the 1950 broadcaster. It’s called the Black Scotch set. The neck pickup uses Alnico 5 mags, just like the originals did and the bridge uses Alnico 3 as also the originals used. The bridge uses the same 43 AWG wire as the neck pickup and is wound to 9.8 k ohms.
